Julius Caesar — World Premiere, Craiova

3DLP supplied the stage-projection system for Peter Schneider’s Julius Caesar, which received its world premiere at the International Shakespeare Festival in Craiova in April 2016 before entering the repertory of the Marin Sorescu National Theatre. Irma de Vries’s video design moved between regimented stripes, fractured black-and-white geometry, monumental architecture and close human faces. Projected imagery reshaped Adrian Damian’s set from scene to scene, giving Shakespeare’s political tragedy a stark contemporary visual language.
